Frequently Asked Questions
How do I submit my artwork to be considered for the exhibit?
Submissions for our exhibition Young America should be sent through our application form here. In the form, you will be given the opportunity to attach up to three pieces as JPEG or PNG files. Any images emailed or sent to our mailing address will not be considered for the exhibit.
If you are having issues submitting your work or accessing the application form, please email us at info@boweryartcollective.com.
How is artwork selected for the exhibit?
Artwork for the gallery is selected by our board of jurors, which includes owners of partnered galleries, working artists, curators, and academics, as well as members of the collective itself.
Does Bowery Art Collective restrict explicit or controversial content (nudity, violence, etc.)?
Bowery Art Collective was created as a platform for young artists to express their perspectives and opinions freely; as such, there are no submission restrictions for explicit or controversial content. Submissions will be judged purely on their artistic merit and their adherence to the theme.
Who or what is liable for my artwork once it is dropped off at the gallery?
Bowery Art Collective will be responsible for all artworks that are in our possession; in the event of any damage or theft, each piece will be compensated at 50% of its listed price. However: please note that after the official pick up date, any unsold artworks remaining in the gallery will become solely the responsibility of the artist.
How will I get paid if my painting is sold?
Bowery Art Collective will issue a check to either the artist themselves or their parent or guardian. Artists will also receive a 1099 as proof of income for their or their guardian’s tax returns.
